Balloon Sculpture Singapore Merlion
Thank you Magic of Markson for having us to do up this challenging Balloon Merlion for his client.
It took us 3 to 4 hours to just make the parts. And another 2 hours to set it up.
Overall we did a good job in this right?
And do you know why Sinagpore choose to name it “Merlion”?
Its name combines “mer“, meaning the sea, and “lion“. The fish body represents Singapore’s origin as a fishing village when it was called Temasek, which means “sea town” in Javanese. The lion head represents Singapore’s original name—Singapura—meaning “lion city” or “kota singa”.
